Beyond the Risk: Leveraging Crypto in Cybercrime Investigations

How blockchain has become a powerful tool for uncovering digital crime

Description

New technologies often follow a familiar trajectory: first adopted by criminals, then gradually reclaimed by investigators and researchers. Cryptocurrencies are no exception.

This session goes beyond the risk - beyond the headlines about money laundering, darknet markets, and ransomware - to explore how blockchain has become a powerful tool for uncovering digital crime. We’ll examine real-world cases where on-chain analysis exposed hidden networks, enabled attribution, and turned anonymous transactions into actionable evidence. Blockchain is more than data: it’s a persistent, transparent record - one that speaks volumes to those who know how to read it. Join us to understand how crypto, once a perceived shield for offenders, is now leveraged to penetrate criminal infrastructures and accelerate cybercrime investigations.
