Experienced cybersecurity leader | Consulting Director @ Unit 42
Sebastian Moebius is an experienced cybersecurity leader who has held roles in both analysis and management operations, achieving a history of global team development and leadership, threat hunting, and security analysis, while also working to improve internal processes and workflows and carrying responsibility for business partner connections.
Before joining Unit 42, Sebastian worked as a purple teaming operations manager at a large automotive manufacturer, where he built an internal red teaming service, participating in both hiring and strategy. He worked as the functional lead for three different Security Operation Centers (“SOCs”), managing at least 20 full-time employees who worked in a variety of departments. Sebastian was also responsible for technical coordination and remediation of any severity one or board of management-related incidents.
At the same firm, Sebastian also worked as a cyber security expert, specifically serving as a technical SOC lead for global infrastructure. Sebastian set up a “follow the sun” model, aiming to connect a team from all around the globe. He advocated to implement a strategy to boost the cybersecurity capabilities of the firm, and also held the role of a virtual team lead for detection and automatic response, leading around six full-time employees. Sebastian helped to develop and mentor new joiners to the firm across all regions.
Previously to his work at the large automotive manufacturer, Sebastian worked at a computer hardware company as a security support analyst for customers, where he performed analysis and alert triage, data hunting for incidents or based on threat intelligence information and developed training material and taught colleagues.
Sebastian has also worked as an IT system manager and a support specialist, maintaining and support internal infrastructure, updating Active Directory components, and supporting trainees and carrying out Microsoft trainings.
